At Sidoli’s we take food safety very seriously. We are audited annually by SALSA (Safe and local supplier approval) and Environmental Health.

The SALSA standard was written by experienced food safety experts to reflect both the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of ‘best practice’ of professional food buyers. Approval certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to a SALSA auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

We have held SALSA certification since 2010.

Environmental Health Officer

We also have an annual inspection from an environmental health officer (EHO) as part of law for manufacturing food. During this visit the EHO officers will make sure that the food we produce is safe to eat. To do this, they will look at:
• Your premises
• The kinds of food you make or prepare
• How you work
• Your food safety management system

We currently hold the top grade of a 5 from our EHO inspection.

This accreditation shows we comply with the latest food safety standards to ensure we manufacture and deliver our product to our customers safely.

Ice Cream Alliance (ICA)

The ICA has been established for 75 years and is a non-profit organisation supporting the producing and vending of premium ice cream and frozen desserts. We have been a member of the ICA since it was started. The ICA are the only membership trade association for the UK Ice Cream Industry.

The Ice Cream Alliance has many facets, all truly unique within the industry. They hold an annual trade exhibition. They also hold the National Ice Cream Competition which is a very well regarded, and has run for as long as the association has. The ICA produce a trade magazine for the UK Ice Cream Industry. All three of these being the only of their kind across the entire UK Ice Cream Industry, a fact we are very proud of.

The ICA are a recognised body with long established links with all Government bodies, particularly DEFRA and the Department of Health (DoH). This gives Sidoli’s extra recognition with our local authority and Environmental Health Officer.
